Sorry for the typo, that should have been FCP7, and I replied because I tried looking up what I wanted to do and couldn’t find a post with the reply, so after breaking my head against it I thought of sharing, as it could help someone in the future.

Select Sequence, from the menus select Modify–>Timecode, then deselect all timecodes

I know this is an old post, but this is how I did it in FCP97, you go to Modify–>Timecode, then deselect any timecode option.
