    thank you for suggestions!

I forgot to mention that I’m also well versed in Avid, but believe or not, it is THE LEAST USED NLE in my city. I heard that it is widely used in NY and LA, but sadly it seems that I’m living in the backwoods.

BTW,out of curiosity, people in NY and LA are using Avid on Mac or Pc?

  • hi, I’d like to chime in here. I know Prores is an ideal option for editing, but it is MAC ONLY. I am working on a PC ( this is the reason why I chose prem over fcp, because it’s platform-agnostic), and I’m having a hard time trying to convert avchd (mts. shot by GH1 hacked) into prores. So do you know any codec similar to prores and is pc-friendly.

Cineform is great, I know that, but I’m soooooo cash strapped now…..

  • Thanks for your suggestion!

one question: why does premiere work better on quadro? is it simply because quadro can enable the mercury engine? In that case, I heard there is a way to work around it to make almost any nvidia card work for mercury engine(“hacking”, I mean)

does it make GTX460 a better choice?
