    I feel like this is usually what I do. Ah well.

    Thanks to you both, but I think the culprit is my text itself. I’ve had better luck with a different and larger font.

    Would this be better done in AE or in my NLE? I need to end up with a letterboxed 720×486 SD .mov

    The former. I also just dropped the whole comp into an SD 4×3 comp and scaled it down manually.

    I’ve never used said script. Is it, per chance, the one entitled scale composition? I had a feeling pixel aspect ratio was the problem, well that and my
    relative inexperience in downconverting without a deck.

    Every time I use compressor to add pull down it comes in as progressive (reading ‘none’ in the field dominance column in FCP) even if I set it to interlaced in the compressor setting.

    Not sure if this matters, It seems to look a lot better on the monitor than just dropping 23.98 footage into a 29.97 timeline.
