Compressor 2.x takes into account that you’ll be using AC3 audio instead of AIFF and that is where the larger file size is calculated.

I’ve noticed the larger file sizes and poor results when encoding to m2v since upgrading to FCP Studio.

8 hours to encode 90 minutes on a single processor 1.25Gh machine is not out of the realm of reality. My dual 2Gh G5 takes about 5 1/2 hours for the same amount fo footage.

I’m having the same problem. No matter what bit-rate I use in Compressor 2.x, I get blocking and bad artifacts whereas the same bit-rate in Compressor 1.x yielded much better results with similar footage.

I’ve been searching for an alternative to Compressor which seems to have lost quality in it’s latest iteration.

I have a regular client for whom I author several weekly DVD’s. The master footage is often poorly shot
