When you use the “Make Movie” it directs you through Sony DVD architect. And it does produce a decent product.

I guess I got spoiled because my first test dvd’s were simply encoded and then burned on a disk and played with my kids sony play station three.

I used the mp4 format and it played with fantastic graphics and very clear fidelity. What I didn’t realize was that this format would only play on a few machines and could not be done through DVD architect.

So I am comparing apples to oranges I guess?

For my home stuff though I will definitely be using the play station with a mp4 format – much nicer – and too bad I can’t get the same quality on a regular DVD player. Same disc material – different outcome??

The consumer end, vegas movie studio HD platinum 10.

It seems odd that everything goes great when I render it and play it on the Sony Play Station 3 – really great video and audio. But the same material put to disk through Sony DVD Architect is, audio wise, not acceptable.

Doing a little more research I find that Sony DVD architect will only accept a few type of audio formats without compressing them. I wondered if this is what is resulting in my reduced audio quality when using Sony DVD?

And if so, how do you convert audio best with out losing quality?

I am new to video work – so please be a little patient.

I have used Sony Vegas for making the presentation. And when I render it to a DVD in mpeg 2 it turns out great and will play on my Sony Play Station 3, but not on other household DVD players.

But when I use the Sony DVD Architect it does a compression on it, even though it only uses half the space available on a DVD. This has cause the audio to be degraded? Now the presentation plays on other DVD players but with disorted audio. Using AC 3 for audio at 320 kbits.
