[Jeremy Garchow] ”
Compressor v4.0.4 just pooped up in the App Store. APpears to be just retina related, though.”Motion 5.0.4 as well.

[Bret Williams] “Must be sorta new, but it’s the exact wording from the NAB leak anyway.”
Yup- exact, more or less. But I hadn’t seen it before (promted there by the features exposed at WWDC), and got curious.

[Phil Hoppes] ”
… will be the day that pigs fly into your office”I hope not. I’m not sure the local pest control would know how to deal with that.

[Chris Harlan] “I absolutely LOVE the fact that they can’t bring themselves to use the name of the XEON processors, which they had no problem doing until this morning. You have to dig for processor product numbers to confirm that they are ancient chips.”
From https://www.apple.com/macpro/features/processor.html:
They mention the word “Xeon” not only once, but five times. If my counting skills are up to date.

As far as I see it, for us at least, the official announcement on their own web of the upcoming fcpx features is a really significant step for apple. The clean up of the old Mac Pro line is not. The former interests me. The latter doesn’t. When they do announce a new line, I will be thrilled. When they do announce the death of it, I will be appalled.
*WHINE* But now back to the OT!

Bah. To talk about the non-news of the Mac Pro isn’t quite that interesting as I first thought.
Oh yes, I would like a new one. If it does arrive, it’ll be something to discuss. If apple does away with it, it’ll be something to discuss. Right now though, It’s neither. Until that changes, which I suspect it will rather soon…
Oh- better mourn the death of the iPod, iMac, Mac Mini and every other peace of hardware they didn’t show as well.

May 31, 2012 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Please keep Lightworks discussions on the Lightworks forum…[Clint Wardlow] ” I have two external fans that I often engage to cool the damned thing down.”
Screaming to be heard over the fans:
“YOU KNOW, BEFORE THEY SENT US THESE FANS, WE USED TO FRY TWO RAIDS EVERY WEEK. AND YOU SEE THESE BURN MARKS ON MY LAP?..”
I guess the next generation oldies will boast about hard drive failures.
