I kinda went thru this with a Flanders and a RED ROCKET BOB (Breakout Box).
The SDI option from the RED BOB was Dual-link (considered old-school?).
So picked up an AJA 3GM to convert from Dual-Link to 3G SDI for Flanders.
Of course my brain was mush by then since I didnt install two cables from AJA to RED BOB….DOH!
I forgot it was a DUAL LINK 🙂

I do have deep resources in my disposal for bigger projects.
I would probably spend a month with the Cinema Camera and Handle before making any moves with credit card 🙂

Wow that Alphatron EVF-035W-3G sounds amazing. Its up there in price but I might have to watch out for something lower or go with a SmallHD type display (got used to that with the RED).
For sound mixing, any thoughts on that?

I dont have anything smart to add to this post but Ill do my best.
Ive had two classes avg 12 students for FCPX.
At the start of the course avg 3 people owned a copy.
By mid course it grew to 6.
I just got word that all of them now own a copy.

Have you considered jumping into deeper waters like After Effects?
If of course you have the budget and resources.
Ive had to do numerous lighting fixes with live events such as bands, shows and public speakings.
You have pre-plan no matter what NLE you are using.
