You are not going to get HD on DVD. The link is to create a HD DVD which is a different format and no longer exist. Create a Stand Definition DVD and you will be fine. The only way to get HD on DVD-R is to burn a Blu Ray disc.

Why? There’s no point in this!!! If your film is SD then it will always be SD. Make a regular SD DVD and send that. It will playback on their BD player – all BD player playback SD DVD. Sending SD material on BD? Now thats risky! LOL

The only option here to add your PDFs in another folder next to your VIDEO_TS folder on the disc. You would then add a menu on the disc which tell the user how to access those files. The days are long gone of accessing content outside the TS folder from the disc itself.

Check with the festival staff again. I seriously doubt they except only Blu Ray. All BD players play regular DVDs anyway so there is most definitely a little confusion on someones part here.

No reason to transcode unless you plan to edit any portions of the video. Just demux the MPEG2 streams and re-author together.

This is for DVD Studio Pro though…I believe similar workflow will work in Encore as well.

HD DVD is a dead format from 2 years ago. You need to make a Blu Ray. Get Toast and try it out.
