I agree but we aren’t living in those times anymore…especially when it comes to DVD. Menu design is everything in DVD and thats where a DVD design specialist comes in. DVDSP titles are indistinguishable from titles done with more Professional authoring tools.

There are only DVD Studio Pro, iDVD and Encore so I would try them all and see.

I use 3 on my Scenarist authoring system and get all pissy if I work on a system with only 2 🙂

Its worth it to you since that’s what everyone seems to be using. I’d say they are about the same as far as stability goes but FCP was way ahead of premier in functionality until recently.

  • Like I said, replicators dont know anything but molding plastic. Just because you dont see issues doesnt means others wont. I wouldn’t have done that but to each their own…

  • Im sure it has gone undetected in the past but Eclipse will flag these issue so I’d assume most would stop there and see what the issue was.

    Format your NTSF of course.

One thing to remember is that very few replicators know anything about authoring or authoring tools 🙂

Ive had this issue once before too when I ditched DLT delivery. Only USB pen drive after that. Here’s an informative thread to read. Also do a google on that error and also do a search here and you’ll find many more answers.

Deliver DDPs on a USB pen drive. If there’s no error you’ll have saved the day!

  • This is a fairly common issue when you send a DVD-R as your delivery media. You need to be sending DDP images on either DLT or USB drives.

All DVD authoring tools import MPEG 2. When it ask you for a mov file its just asking for a source they can encode to MPEG 2. Makes it an easy workflow. Ashampoo is just a free crappy burning tool that muxes DVD as well…in the end it encodes your source to MPEG 2. Did you read the link? 🙂

The disc your playing isnt whats in the DDPs. All image burn can do is find a suitable LB..as does PGC Edit. Gear sets that LB and writes out DDP images. Thats a fatal warning you have so I wouldn’t ignore it. Have you asked your question on Gear’s site? The engineers might know why Gear only wants to see that one location.
