I’d out source your encoding to a third party for the MPEG streams then author in DVDSP. It saves you time and you dont have to go to Beta SP from a HD source which I would think is a big no no these days.

when you build a disc you will get a VIDEO_TS and a AUDIO_TS folder. Use these to burn a disc. These files are what set to players read.

use your VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS folders to burn a DVD with your bravo

People are always looking for someone to do menus for DVD. and now with the new HD spec it wont be stopping anytime soon.

Producing 1 set of discs (NTSC) just might be good business sense if your familar with the costs of replication. If your planning a low run of discs it might be OK. IMO

How many discs are you going to duplicate? If its alot ,get them replicated instead

Are you looking to burn HD-DVDs? If so you can do that with DVDSP 4 but it will only play back on a G5. Hi Def DVD is still very much a thing of the future at this point – at least from a users stand point.

Studio Pro is a very easy program is use – Its design is built for for people like yourself and students. I dont think any video-savy student would have any problem with DVDSP.

Here’s my take on copy protection. If people are gonna start copying your work, you, mostly likely, will sell ALOT of copies (and make ALOT on money). putting a scratch on a DVD-R may prevent this but it also puts you in danger of not playing on some players. Don’t worry about people copying your stuff – only go with it if you are going to replicate thousands of discs.
