    1. The opacity issue did turn out to be a result of the background being set to motion blur and the text not.

    2. Rasterizing was already turned on. The noise problem was fixed when I re-imported the ai file as separate layers retaining their size… no more noise.

    3. I didn’t experience this problem again. May have been an anomaly.
