  • Thanks for writing, Zane —

Those things you ask about are definitely suspect. It’s an old computer running OS 10.4, and the external hard drive is attached via USB. All of my media files are on said drive. I would suspect all that more strongly if there weren’t other footage that I have (much higher quality, in XDCam) that runs perfectly — from the same hard drive. Do you think the drive/connection is still the problem? I’m hoping to upgrade soon anyway.

    thanks,

Thanks again for your help. The tutorial you pointed out was helpful to me in grasping some of the logic behind these systems. My footage wasn’t recognized in Log&Transfer, but I did get it all to work, ultimately, with Compressor. It’s incredibly time consuming even to scroll around in the Compressor program when it’s dealing with the H.264 footage, but it does ultimately work.

Nonetheless, I will probably look to buy a more compatible camera….

    all the best,
    Emily

Thanks for your initial response, Rafael–

Here are some technical specs on the camera (is this what you’re asking?):

    Sound files (Voice Memo): WAV
Movies: MOV (Video:MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, Audio: AAC stereo)
    Full HD: 1920x1080p / 30fps

    best,
    Emily
