July 19, 2013 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Best render settings for 5-15 and 20-35 minute long videos?Hmm I see. Like I’d said I haven’t been keeping track at all with this new tech, and mostly forgot what most of this even means. Don’t want to try to mix parts together then find out they don’t work. I might go with that motherboard, and processor. Unless new products come out before I get to my budget which at this time it doesn’t matter. Now for 16GB of ram what are you using on your computer? Because my computer has rejected 3 different manufacturers since 2008. I know that will change with these new parts. But it also costed me before.
Also to double check are these the correct parts right? Because I want to put these in my bookmarks folder to make sure I’m not buying the wrong items.

Yea I figured it might be outdated due to new hardware coming out very often. I lost track of all this new stuff long time ago haha. I also don’t do this for a living but I do this on my off time. This is my main, and only computer I got. I’m on this around 10-14 hours a day since I work at home.
Dave@ I decided to just look up the CPU/Motherboard you’ve said which is the (Ivy Bridge i7 cpu) and (Z77 motherboard chipset). If I can save up now I think I could get them around Christmas IF lucky. Also looked at 16GB of ram from Newegg.com. Would it matter if I upped it up to 32GB of ram? Would there be a big difference due to render threads?
Reason why I’m asking this because if I’m going to upgrade. I want this to be beneficial for Video rendering, and my other side projects with Cinema 4D. If I do upgrade these 3 components with the stuff I already got on my computer. Then I can finally make my dream videos with 3D animation. Which has been holding me off for 3 years because of the outdated computer.
Like this picture down below took close to 28 minutes to render out in Cinema 4D. If it took that long to render out just one frame. Then rendering 1000 frame scene (About 5 second clip) would just be horrible.

July 11, 2013 at 5:51 am in reply to: (Cinema R13) Wireframe with transparent background?Well I’ve tried it, and seems to do ok. Only issue I’m having now is at random keyframes speeds up, and then slows down. Trying to keep it all one speed.

July 10, 2013 at 7:45 am in reply to: (Cinema R13) Wireframe with transparent background?Hmm ok. I’ll give it a go later on today after I wake up. So I’ll render out a good chunk of the progress to see what it can do then.

O wow. I didn’t think you might tinker with it. After looking at your file I can see some things I could do but haven’t actually sat there to look at all the stuff you have done to it yet.

Brian Jones: Well I’ve tried your ideas first to see what it can do. After I tried windows with an Infinite Light above. It wasn’t showing light or no shadows inside the warehouse. I tried setting the intensity of the lights brighter, and the density to 500% to see atleast some type of change. Nothing.
After messing with the different lights for 2 hours from omni, infinte, and area nothing was really changed. or nothing compare to the second picture I’ve showed inside Cinema 4D in my first post. Then I tried the square spots in the ceiling seeing if it needed windows or not. Even then it acted like it was one big blob of light no matter what I’ve changed.
Darby Edelen: I’m curious what type of light did you use in those samples? Also wondering how high is your light from the warehouse itself. I’ve tried your idea to with the Global Illumination, Detail Enhancement enabled, and Diffuse Depth. It did slightly change my render but nothing to a big degree with the problem already at hand.
.
So started a new project to see what I can change different with the lights/shadows from my first project. After messing around with the windows cutout from the ceiling I tried 9 Grayscalegorlla’s overhead softboxes over the warehouse. (3 in the middle, and 3 on either side of the warehouse.) Also made the floor Luminance to 28% because the room was still getting no light inside at the time. After using the softboxes it finally started to show shadows back in the warehouse but looks horrible.

Hmm never thought about the first picture might have windows in the ceiling. I’m going to have to try that out. Since today I’m cooped up in my room with snow blocking me in I guess I’ll give it a shot. I’ll give you guys a report when I try a those idea’s out.

Finally got home on this computer and tried what you have said. It works! Thanks for the help.
