Im also finding that when i do anything on vegas besides leaving it alone the power usage goes into the very high levels, but the cpu, the gpu, and the ram are not going up much at all, my CPU is in the 10-15% range, the gpu is like 1-3% range, and my RAM is like 25-30%, but the power usage is always reading very high

yeah, i tried turning it off before, it didnt do anything, ive been working on this for a while now, i found that it Vegas was using alot of ram, so i lowered that in preferences a little and it kind of did the trick, but i also found that im getting 3 extra actions being performed by vegas in my task manager. 1 is the error report launcher, and the other two are File I/O surrogate (not visible) (32bit), and VST server (32bit). Im thinking that this might be a part of the problem

sup dude, thanks for the reply. the files im working with are like 90% mp4 9%wmv and like 1% gif. i dont know how much detail there is to go in with that. my old computer handled them ok for a long time. i actually did figure out the cpu problem i updated to vegas 18 and its not using a whole lot of cpu right now but it still moves slow. Im in the process of making video proxies again for all my files and its taking forever. it sucks because i have all my old proxies but idk how to just use those instead of making new ones
