  • Yes, the problem was that the card just didn’t work…the screen was blank and I waited a LONG time. So, anyways I had to sell it and get a Quadro FX 4800 (no problems).

    Thanks,

  • I bought a PC version EVGA GTX 560 (2GB) video card by mistake for my Mac Pro 3, 1 (early 2008 – 8core). I’m stuck with it, and researched a bit to see if I had options and I found that Macvidcards might be able to flash it to work with my hardware config.

I have OSX mountain Lion (latest vers.) and I just need to know how much it would cost to make this happen for me and how to get in touch with Macvidcards via email or some other means.

    Please Advise,
    Lisa

  • I’ve been reading many threads for hours now, and I understand that there is a possibility of running a PC based video card on a mac pro. I just need to know if my specific configuration is adequate.

mac pro 3, 1 with snow leopard for use with PP CS5.5 and AE mainly. I bought the EVGA nVidia gtx560 2gb card, but am not sure about the process involved in getting it to cooperate with mac OSX.

I’ve heard that it’s possible it might not allow the hdmi port to work, but thats fine as long as I still have the 2 DVI’s, and I’m aware of the lack of a boot screen. Can anyone tell me of a simple breakdown step by step of this process?

    Thanks a bunch!
