Clear and concise instruction is the nexus of teaching, but reaching that goal is easier said than done. There is many a talented Director, DP, First AD who can perform their job and get the desired result. But it takes a certain talent, and a good deal of introspective thought to create a lesson from that experience so that others may profit. Rick Wise is one of those people. Most likely caused by an VHF radio transmitter. Most aircraft mounted VHF put out 10 watts of power. When the pilot keys the mic, is usually when you see these lines. Depending on the aircraft, effects may be lessened by using a transmitter whose antenna is further away from the mount or requesting that communication is kept to a minimum – although these days in major metropolitan areas this is increasingly difficult.
