By the way, fellow XC-10 owners…I tried a few converters that didn’t work….Compressor of course didn’t work, Wondersoft Video Converter Ultimate my usual goto converter didn’t work…it converted audio but not video.

the one that worked for me is Brorsoft MXF converter. It’s $29 USD.

Still very happy with this super lightweight little camera…great super sharp pictures and fleshtones…auto focus is good, and I’ll be using it a lot. Love the adjustable grip.

OUCH! I just bought my XC-10 today and ran into the same thing. Wish I saw this post yesterday. I got Green horizontal static lines where clips should be in FCPX’s browser, even after installing Apple’s “Pro Video Formats”

Thanks for posting this Mark. Hopefully FCPX will adapt this codec quickly so we won’t need to convert everything. I like the camera other then the fact I have an extra big step now to convert it.

So that Magic Lantern firmware sounds intriguing, and I’m going to look into it, but it sounds a bit intimidating to me.

I use a Sony Wireless that I mount the reciever on the top of the camera, and the output cable is a right angle mini that plugs into the mic into the 5D. I monitor the output of the wireless reciever (there are two outputs, an audio out and a headphone), to make sure there are no rf hits or other bad audio qualities, and just occasionally look at the connector to make sure it’s still firmly seated. (I’ve already had to redo an interview because I plugged mic into AV jack by mistake…that will never happen again.)

I don’t mind the auto gain with the wireless. Heres a sample of what it sounds like in an interview situation:

Greg: I hope somebody answers you/us because I am having a similar problem, and have the same set up, same computer, and I see the footage on the camera, but in the logtransfer window…nothing. another forum somewhere recommended deleting all the SD footage on the camera for final cut to see the HD footage, which I did, to no avail. It is unfortunate that Sony doesn’t make a Mac driver for the camera. It’s a nice camera but this is frustrating.
