Steven,
Premiere Pro CS3 and the camera is a Sony DCR SR62 Handicam. It does widescreen but not High Def so it’s not AVCHD as I understand it – simply MPG files.
A bit of reading around is starting to make me realise that people don’t feel this is the way to edit but the files look ok on the editors that will import it so far. In Aus we have laws re fit for purpose-I stated to the sales people what I wanted to do and they said it was ok, so if it doesn’t fit my purpose I can return it within a reasonable time.
I’m looking for a smaller footprint camera and the HDD seemed a good idea to save tapes. Is there really that much difference, remembering this is hobby stuff, not pro or commercial? If not, then Panasonic have what appears to be a nice little miniDV camera about the same size and price.
Any help appreciated 🙂
Thanks,
Barry
