Well, I agree for content, etc. The reason I’d want opinions here is for quality, transitions, any suggestions on the Vegas side of my vid, not necessarily what I put in it. If youtube is the place for that also, then I’ll continue to watch for comments (I posted it there originally).
    Thanks!

I just created a video of a day dive trip. I selected .mp4 for my output file and it was so blurry you could not tell what was going on in the video. I’m searching ever since for why this is…. While I see Vegas has a zillion options for output video, I simply selected AVCHD and I got a really nice looking, high def video file. I uploaded this to youtube so I could post it on facebook for my friends/family.

Again, I am obviously completely over my head with the outputs of a software like Vegas and looking to learn more. If I selected mp4, as your link to google says to, would you have to adjust the settings first, select mp4, and then render? Sorry for the noob-ness, but love doing video and having a great time learning.

Ouch… I thought I had the best version out. Thank you for the replies, I am a new forum user so I couldn’t reply right away. I sent an email and was allowed. I had a flare working, just not with that black background.

Hopefully this answer’s your question too, Paul. In the video he puts a black background down, clicks a button on the left side of the track, which highlighted as Composite Mode and then adds a lens flare on top of it. The button I have, in the exact same place, appears similar but I do not have the many choices he has and subsequently the black background does not go beneath the lens flare. It makes sense that I have a different edition – I simply thought he was using a older version of Vegas.
