Thanks John, Seem to be getting anything but helpful responses from sony creative at this point. Just tried rendering 1* 15sec clip as suggested. After 5 minutes still showed it at 6% rendered. Can you suggest another program that is similarly priced and is user friendly. I can see what is supposed to do and that is the reason why I bought it. However it does not seem to be able to back it up. Would appreciate any direction you can give me.

Thankyou for taking the time to try and help John. As for the type of .mpg file I am unsure. After installing the software provided with the DCR-SR45 handycam each time I conect the handycam to my computer via the usb cable it prompts me to import the files. This is the process when they are imported into the 4 different styles. However when I open that particular file in fegas only the .mpg file appears.
2. Corruption always appears at different clips however alays around the 30 > 40 Minute mark.
3. I am dragging the .mpg files from the stored location on my computer not the handycam.
4. Audio was an issue as 9a did not bring the audio across but that seems to be rectified with the 9b update.
5. Excuse my ignorance but I have no idea how to render in dv avi format as I am very new at this and would appreciate some guidance. (possibly in laymans terms too :-))
I am from Australia and just completed the Tesoro Iron Dog with my cousins in Alaska. This is the first project I have ever tried to create. And it is really important to me given the nature of the trip. Thanks again John.

Could you please help me. I am having a similar problem with Vegas 9b. I am trying to create a movie with quite a few clips and each time I get about halfway through an error occurrs. Can you please explain how I can drag an existing project onto an existing project without it opening. Help appreciated.
