For a real life response, I installed Boris Ultimate package, whatever it was, Blue or Red, and they all worked fine. I removed it because I never used them much, and they made scrolling through video effects a ponderous experience.

btw, let me say I’m embarrassed to have my picture up there at the top of the forum alongside people who really do know what they’re doing and do it for a living. I’m just an amateur boob, so please feel free to remove me from the Wall of Fame, please 🙂

  • Just right click in the project panel, either on a clip or in an empty spot, and choose “View Hidden” which is right below “Hide”.

Thanks. I appreciate you guys taking the time. Cheers!

  • Thanks, guys. I guess my long winded question really boiled down to how bright the lights would be given those specs. Just didn’t know how to word it but both of you answered my question. No, I’m not looking to make money on youtube. Most of my videos are unlisted, they’re just video messages to my brother, to let him know how I’m doing and such. I just like dramatic lighting, and maybe recreating a look I’ve seen in a movie here or there, but nothing technically brilliant. But if these are too weak for my needs, yeah, you saved me $117.00. I don’t mind the $19 I spent on this other light, it’s cheaper than a good flashlight 😉

    Thanks again.

Thanks, guys. I really should express myself more clearly. For example the bit about turning skin blue. I know I’d have to mask it and all but I just meant adding a cool tint to skin tones, which live in the mid-tones, not making someone look like an Avatar reject. Anyway, again, I appreciate pros like yourselves taking the time to answer my questions. Cheers!

No, I didn’t. But the paused image is full resolution. Always has been. When I play the clip I can see it go to 1/4 quality, and when I stop it, it goes back to full res, but, again, the sharpness effect doesn’t show.

Hey, thanks for responding. I don’t think you’re getting my point (my original post does seem convoluted upon re-reading it this morning). If I switch between 1/4 and full, the still image doesn’t change in quality, as far as sharpness. It looks exactly the same. If I play the clip in full quality, sure, I can see the sharpness but playback is beyond choppy (like I said, amateur work station). But I remember before, if I applied sharpness to my clip, you could see the effect when the clip is not playing.

Also, just to clarify, whether I have it set to 1/4 or full quality, the still image doesn’t change. But only for sharpness. It will change if I desaturate or add a LUT or adjust white balance.
