I certainly would be interested in whatever you find to be your solution. I am having the exact same issue. I have followed the Avid advice about moving files out of the Avid directory, deleting them, making copies and moving them back into the avid directory. On a slower machine that fixed my issue with MPEG2 export. I reloaded on a newer 3.5 Ghz P4 1GigByte machine and cannot get around this.
