Ok. I am thinking of purchasing compressor on my MacBook Pro at home (I don’t have any editing software on this computer).

Then I am going to export the video file from Premiere Pro on my PC to a QT Animation file(the file is approximately 75GB!!!).

Then transfer that 75GB video file to my MacBook Pro and put it through compressor to get the ProRes 422 HQ that is being asked for.

Before I pull the trigger and purchase compressor, can you (Tom, John) tell me if you have an concerns with above workflow? Will compressor be able to handle a 75GB file??

    Much much much appreciated.

    Thanks for the response John.

I use a PC. What if I were to export the video and then bring that file into Final Cut (if I could find someone with the program) and then export the ProRes file. If I were to do that, would you recommend I export the file in Premiere Pro in any specific format (my guess would be Animation, but they are such huge files).

    Thanks

Thank you for the quick response Jeff. Unfortunately I don’t see any of those options on the Adobe Premiere drop-down. Do I have to purchase them?

Pixelation in compression? Does that mean it is something happening in post or is my raw footage damaged?

    Hi All,

Please see clip below. I am still getting grain (on red wall and blue shirt). Here are my gain settings and picture profile. Please let me know if something jumps out at you that might be responsible for my grainy image.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I tried some of your suggestions with a personal project. The fact that much of the above video was out of focus was sobering. I don’t know if I can blame the camera, but perhaps I should reach out to Sony.

    Hi John,

Is it not going to work if I just went out and stood by the camera for 2 hours and then speed up the footage in post?

If I place the camera outside my office for 1-2 hours while the sun is going down, will that be sufficient for time-lapse effect in post?
