Thanks for all the help guys…

It looks like it’s the hardware. Seems the Audio Monitoring ports are not working, as we tried it with one of our other K3’s. It worked. So I guess that warranty will come in handy.

    Thanks Again.

Couldn’t you just bounce the audio back to your 1200a deck then recap it? Also just as a test. Did you film at 24fps? If so bring a clip in using capture settings at 60. Then makesure you sequence is set for 24. Just to help problem solve.

Are you DIRECTLY concerned with film out?

Im sure i’m stating the obvious, but I like to light through the lens when using HD. If you have the luxury of a grip have them move the light accordingly till you achieve max sparkle [Can’t help but think of Mr. Sparkle from Simpsons]. Also if you can get a Diva kit hung overhead that’ll even the top light…as long as you shoot within the plane. Jewlery shadows are ugly IMOP. If you’re going to ramp/over-under crank know your stop difference. You can set the camera to shoot eshutter of 1/100 [there’s debate on this, but this is what works for me], and ramp all day. The camera with adjust accordingly. If you want to really pop the color, light with a shutter of at least 90 in mind. It may mash a bit of the movement, but contrast in detail isn’t a bad thing.

    Hope that wasn’t redundant.

Yeah I called and it wasn’t on their end. We finally got it working correctly. Seems the Kona and Ultimatte HD only like one another on a certain SDI port…so I guess I will stick with that.

    Thanks

  • And I thought the Film vs HD argument was bad. Now it’s tape vs the solid state [great band name], that’s just really rough. I see every format as another “stock.” Every tool has it’s place. I saw on the Panasonic website that [may be I just dreamed it] you can get the 200 plus two 8 gig cards for just around 10k. Not cheap, but not so bad either…course how do you get it into the computer i’m sure is another cost.

My only potential problem with P2 is all the additional cost, but hey it’s not my money.

Just finished my last test and sadly, i’m a moron. I overlooked the fact that I was connected to our once optical library [it’s now gigabit]. So I recaptured the problematic clips to my optical raid and viola…i’m an idiot.

    Thanks for the help Walter.

Just trashed the prefs. Gonna see if this works. Yea most people have no idea as to why this is occuring. I think it has to do with the FW, but I don’t have the proof yet.
