February 22, 2016 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Zoom H6 — Audio plays back but can’t find on card to downloadThanks Victor, I found that post as well. The method DOES work, however, my recovered recording was super-warp-speed chipmunk. I tried to slow it down but just got a lesser warp-speed chipmunk.
I’m going to try recording into another Zoom if I can get my hands on one.

…I think it’s the PNG codec. I switched to a different project that has been exporting just fine, and exported it as Quick Time/PNG and same result — it’s actually the audio running at the correct speed but the graphics/video all in slo mo, causing out of sync. Weird!
Any ideas why this is happening? I guess I’ll try a different codec for the other video. I had tried H.264 but the transparency had issues. It’s a green screen project–the background was completely disappearing and was replaced with black when using H.264 — something that’s never happened before…

Great ideas! Thanks!
I just thought of something else — legally, can they even put other companies logos in their own promotional video?

April 28, 2015 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Shifting contents of a layer that has an animated maskThis is great, thanks! Am having a snag, tho.
layer 1: BLANK shape layer with animated mask path
(set to “add”, not inverted, and yes, it has “fill” and “stroke” applied but they don’t appear, yes opacity is 100%)layer 2: The movie file, set to alpha matte (yes, opacity is 100%)
In this instance, nothing appears. I also tried putting the mask path on a solid and it works except I can’t get rid of the solid’s color.
If I can get your trick to work, then I won’t have to recreate every single path as a newly-drawn & key-framed shape layer/matte.
Thanks for helping out a self-taught newbie!

April 21, 2015 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Keyframing effects in AE on imported Premiere Pro sequencesThanks Dave. The problem seems to be having the project open on Premiere and open in AfterEffects at the same time. Once I quite out of PP, I was able to work with the PP sequences in AE with no keyframe issues.
In fact, now if I have both programs open, AE freezes & won’t let me work on the project until I quit out of the PP project.

Aha! The phantom power did it. Apparently, the Sony doesn’t need it but the Shure does. Since I have so many I bet I initially tested the H6 with the Sony when I received it and not the Shures, otherwise I would have run into this earlier.
Thanks much! Off to my shoot with mics that work 🙂

Hi Ty, Thanks so much for helping me out.
ALL mics work fine in the Canon XF105. I’m just using it to test against the Zoom H6.
I have several condenser lav mics (again, ALL work when used with the XF105). Two work just fine in the H6. Two don’t work at all. The wireless lav also no longer works in the H6 (it did just 2 weeks ago). And a shotgun mic also doesn’t work in the H6. ALL mics work when checked in the XF105.
Why would one condenser lav (a Sony in this case) work in the H6 while a nearly identical and newer condenser lav (a Shure in this case) will not? … and ALL mics worked in the H6 when I first got it & was testing it out a couple of months ago.
So what button did I press wrong? 🙂

Thanks guys!
The room is fairly small, so we can’t get the subject too far from the wall, and there is a lot of natural light (no window shades available). I think I’ll try the backdrop. I can shoot all the shots with the backdrop so there’s no continuity issues.
