I’m using CS3, and have routinely avoided using frame blending because the horribly blobby results. Often, I’m using source footage from either Avid DNxHD or ProRes. These don’t have the time/frame issues of things like AVI or the like, correct?

Has Adobe improved upon the frame blending algorithms with CS4 or CS5? I guess it’s an imperfect science. Has anyone found a way to use RSMB to fill in missing frames, without necessarily blurring the inter-frames?

Thanks, Walter. I’ll report back whatever salient information I may glean.

I have also considered Nuke, but the fact that it really isn’t a suitable design program really kills it for me. Plus, they’re still playing games with pricing and “maintenance contracts”. I thought that died with Silicone Graphics years ago…

Thanks. I’ve been posting, at length, on both C4D Cafe & CG Talk about the 3D end of things. I’m fairly squared away there, but the AfterEffects workflow is where I need additional input. I figured this would be good, in that it’s specifically AE, but I’ll start a thread over in the stereoscopic forum, as well.

I assumed this would be the best place to post this question. No responses, however, make me wonder if this belongs elsewhere?

Sorry, I don’t mean to hijack this thread, but I was going to ask a similar question. I currently use CS3, which by all accounts seems stable and as fast any previous version I can remember. But I have heard from others that CS4 is buggy, and the speed is unreliable.

I was planning to make the jump to CS5, but I sure won’t if it has issues like what I’ve read about CS4. Can people please comment about any of this.
