As a Heinlein fan, and what boy wasn’t, with a quote as good as that, I need more than the author’s name – what’s the source
Two that I know of: “Time enough for love” and “The notebook of Lazarus Long”
If you just want quotes, go for ‘notebook’. If ya want a good (and long)read, go for ‘time’.

“but was the way that they were doing it.”
One trade magazine that I get has started trying to tie the print version to their online version. Only they aren’t doing it very well. Each article has a ‘for more on this story go to:….’ Yet when I go to the site I find missing links, The title to the article that does not link to anything or, if it is working correctly, the exact same info that the magazine gave me.
I’ve tried doing the magazine/online tie-in with them for 3 months now and it doesn’t seem to be getting better.

I recently read in a trade magazine (I think it was DV) where they were responding to a criticism that all of their reviews were positive. Their response? Why would we waste space on a bad product? They only printed reviews on products that they thought would be of use to their readers. They weren’t saying that products they didn’t review were all bad, just that they picked the best to review.

Two questions: How much memory does an iphone have? I was under the impression that it wasn’t alot.
Second, I wonder if they edited that demo on their iphone?

Ditto everything Mark said. In addition, when possible, shoot a ton of B-Roll. Vary the shots; close-ups, medium shots, wide shots, pans, tilts, zooms….anything you can think of. Even if you think it is a dumb idea at the time it could save you later. Shoot way more than you think you will need. Get video of anything that is mentioned in the interviews, multiple shots of each. If you have time, try to get some differently angled shots of the interviewee after the interview is done. Over-the shoulders, reverse angles, etc. (Watch some of the national news shows interviews for examples.) You will thank yourself later.
Also, while shooting B-Roll, on locked off shots I try to shoot at least :30 per shot. Pans, tilts and zooms, I try to hold a steady shot for :04-:05 seconds before I begin the move and another :04-:05 seconds after it is done.
Basically the more you shoot the better off you will be during the edit.
Oh yeah, have fun while you are doing it. It seems the more fun I have shooting something, the more time I spend shooting it.
Good Luck

I just read an article on msn.com. “7 tips on keeping customers” It didn’t have any advice that I haven’t already seen on the Cow, including ‘nuturing lifelong employees’ and ‘be picky about your lifelong customers’. (AKA treat your employees well and watch out for grinders.)

you’re welcome, I am usually the last one to see these things so I figured people would have seen it. (I emailed it to a friend who responded “where have you been for the last three month’s?) 🙂 But it was funny so I thought I’d post it anyway.

Something that just struck me as funny. This discussion is taking place on a website where we can post most any question (and have).
Free of charge.
And for that I for one am extremely grateful.

Thanks for the correction. I definitely see your point, now I’m going to go back and re-read the article.
