No, I know how to the do the burn-in timecode. What I’m looking to do is embed a SMPTE-style track in the export. This composer wants to sync everything up correctly.
Since I posted my original question, I’ve found something online that said Premiere Pro automatically embeds timecode in a WAV. That’s great, but… in looking over my audio export options, I don’t see WAV as a choice.
Sigh. Anyone out there know what to do?

David, if you get around to it, that’s great, but for me it’ll only be useful as information. I won’t have any way to get this project from FCP 7 to Premiere. I’m locked into my Apple sandbox, so I was hoping I could find the definitive answer, or a solution that I can implement.

Thanks for the warning, Dave, but I’ve already addressed that particular demon over the last few months. I’ve been toiling away on stuff since April, and so far, so good.
I’m more concerned with the immediate dangers right in front of my face!!!… which are all these “we’ll fix it in post” requests I’m being handed.
So… back to the topic at hand: anyone out there know how to map a flat rectangular video to a curved TV?

I’m curious about the white/black roto step you mentioned. I completely understand rotoscoping, even though I’ve never really had to do it, but I don’t get its use in this particular instance. Are you saying that I’d have to go in and rotoscope out the actress sitting in front of the monitor, animating the roto over the span of the shot, cutting her perfectly out?
And then (forgive my ignorance), but how would that work with the footage in creating a better key?

I’m not concerned about storage, I’m concerned with the piecemeal collection of daisy chained drives I have, and the lag time I experience due to the age and creeping instability of my 5 year old Macbook. Now that I don’t need to access 80% of the footage and audio, it would be easier on my Mac to only have to pull from 1 drive. So that’s my main reason for wanting to simplify the project.
As for the footage, it’s all Apple ProRes 422 MOVs, shot at 23.98 on BlackMagic cameras.
Copy vs. Move… that part I had figured out!
