That’s a big nevermind. I realized I had to start with a white object if I want to replicate it and then apply a Color Mode of ‘Over Pattern’ if I want my stack of bars to change color over height. Still, interesting about what I found about how the luminance of the color of the original object affects the color rage of that object when replicated. I’m sure that could be used somewhere for a special effect.

Maybe you’re trying to overthink this. I would try this for you but can’t download your video but I see that “Hope” is not very readable because it’s angled back too far. Just as a quick ‘n dirty experiment, duplicate the layer, crop to the word “Hope” on the upper layer and rotate the copied layer on its X axis so that it faces the viewer more. Once rotated you may have to squish it vertically a little. Just take a look at the final frame and if it works, then you’ll have to keyframe the crop through the move.

Andy, thank you. My digital VU meter now works correctly. I was compelled to perfect it even though everyone here agrees that my prior version sold the effect. When people call me obsessive, I thank them for the compliment. Now, each segment appears as a whole instantly. I’ve posted a quickie movie of it and also took the opportunity to expose you heathens to Sue Palmer’s Room Service Boogie:

Motion can import PSD files and you can choose to import PSD files as layers, all PS layers as one layer in Motion, or any single layer among many layers in the PS document.

Easy. Look at the Inspector of the object you want to copy and simply drag whatever attribute you want to copy to any other object in the Layers window. For example, drag “Position” of one object and drop it onto another object.

I got the first EX3 in Dallas so I’ve had mine since July 29th.
Love the camera overall but one thing really bothers me; the monitor out BNC. Connect a cable to it and then wiggle the cable a little and the BNC connector moves with the cable and you hear cracking and groaning from the plastic. Clearly, the BNC is not anchored in metal. I fear it will fail soon.
Bad design on the on/off switch as well.
