I quite frankly think that this is a different philosophy of UI. What you have described has reminded me of the SpeedGrade approach to the way they treat control panels. It might seem nice at first, but BMD DaVinci Resolve approach allows for a more flexible workflow. You can use panel to do one thing while simultaneously doing something else with a mouse/keyboard, because panel does not react to the room changes. In SpeedGrade I have noticed that I have to do way more clickety-clackety with the panel in order to achieve similar results. Tough, it is easier to use in certain respects because of the two way link between the GUI and the panel, it is a bit more difficult in some other.

So, am I to understand that if I have everything selected I am NOT to expect a brown bar on the Deliver page?

Right, but I was thinking more from the POV of the bug tracking by the dev team

  • Thank you for listening!
Do you have any comment on conforming/transitions?

You must output your audio using BlackMagic Design card as well. You must connect your monitoring solution (deck, receiver, amplifier)to your Decklink card outs. You cannot monitor your audio using the built in computer speakers or the speakers attached to the computer and expect it to be in sync. This is the only way you will get sync.
    Hope this helps

  • True, I am especially happy with the fix of the non square PAR images behavior with Power Windows and tracking that we discussed at NAB floor

Well, OK, not everything translates well, but I just run a test and had no issues with panning and scaling of video from PPro timeline in resolve. All of my settings came through.

I fail to see how are you going to spread it across the two screens then without the distortion.

  • As I mentioned “qualifier blur” is a part of a “color corrector” as far as key frames are concerned and not a part of “qualifier”. switching on auto kyframing for the qualifier will affect the curves of the qualifier and not it’s blur. Blur in a qualifier panel is not a part of qualifier but rather an image operation applied to black and white matte resulting from qualifier use. I have repeated the experiment multiple times today trying to fail the qualifier blur animation on purpose and was not able to do so.

  • Dynamic mark first, value change second. If no change from the default value then auto key will not be generated.
When following what you did : 1 st frame no change (ie -100), dynamic mark, last frame – dynamic, value change – no animation is expected.

Do this instead: make your key, make your correction, then go to first frame and do dynamic mark, then go to last frame do dynamic mark then do 100 on qualifier blur.

Interestingly enough as far as dynamics are concerned qualifier blur is a part of a color corrector subset in the key frames tab and not a part of the qualifier subset.
Also if you are to make a qualifier selection after you made a dynamic mark you have to repeat the same selection at all of the other marks. Otherwise the selection becomes void at those marks and the qualifier blur will have no effect as there is no selection. So make your selection first, then start doing dynamics.

    Hope this helps.
