Thank everyone for responding!
I wrote to canon`s teh.support and they wrote me that better not to do it “Using the microphone in this way will mean that the product is being used outside of specification”. And unfortunately they didn’t gave me any specs of mic. So as I am not strong in technical questions of audio, I am gonna buy new one mic and will try to sell canon’s.

Ok, then is it possible to connect JST to xlr cable? If yes, which cable to which? I dont want to burn mic )))) I heard that canon’s mic needs +5 power. And xlr is +48! Correct me if I am wrong.

My firewire port is burned. No one on the island can fix it. We have vary bad service here and expensive. I can not send now to Israil or Europe to service. I need to make projects asap.

hi Ken,
I had same problem. What I did:
1) Format hard drive
2) instal win7

and it started to work. Without formating Hard drive it is not possible to get it work because you probably installed not the latest drivers firstly…you got them from CD. Win 7 is “remember” drivers and new drivers(9.0) works not properly when you are upgrading.
So after formating and install win7 – download latest drivers and install them. Should work.

I had problems with viewfinder. When I was rotting it(up/down).. my camcorder shutdown all time. I opened viewfinder by myself…found that some cables has no good connection to lcd. I fix it and problem with shutdown camcorder was finished.
But better to show guys from service.

Hello Todd,
Unfortunately my location is Cyprus and small town Paphos, so I can not rent any camcorder especially NTSC. I think I am the only who use NTSC camcorder on the island. I got it from NY… about 4 years ago for non broadcast projects. Anyway thanks for your thoughts sharing =)
It was really big surprise when I found that no embed audio in xlh1.

I found issue – my camcorder(canon xl h1) doesn’t have audio sdi.
So I plug analog audio cable to audio card and recording sound and video separately.

I couldn’t find problem. But I decided to reinstall my WIN and made format of my hard drive. After I installed everything and it started to work.
Probably it was kind of mistake with drivers and it started to work after re-installation of windows.

it saying “No Settings requires” and it doesn’t allow to change in setting anything! I am on Win.
