Okay so I fixed it. What I did is I first re-installed it. Then, I opened up my task manager, found the process for vegas, and set it’s priority to “high”. And now when i run it, I don’t use the desktop shortcut. I click on the actual program to open it and now it works perfectly 🙂

This however may not be the same problem that you are having so I’m sorry if what I did doesn’t fix it for you…
