The numbers mentioned is how much space is on the drives total.
Why would I be getting these errors?

I have reinstalled my CS5.5, but still cannot get the Mercury Playback engine to work.
When I go to general Project settings, under video Rendering and Playback, it has Mercury Playback Engine Software Only, but grey out with no other options.

I have checked all the requirements, and my system meets them all.
(OS 10.6.7)
Is there something else I am missing in order to get the mercury engine to work?

This is what I was afraid of.

Will my macpro be able to handle such a high level card?
Is it worth it? I mean, as far as spending a quarter of the price on a card for an older machine that I would spend on upgrading my entire system.
