However, it’s weird everything was hooked up properly. I watch DVD’s all the time with no issue. I can now hear the left track on the all the DVD’s I’ve burned, yet there is a 10 second section in the all the films (same place) where the audio drops out. I play it on my ps2 on a standard TV and on my computer and the audio is fine. I have to show this tonight in front of 100 people in a NYC bar filled with family and friends and I’m going to wing it ha-ha (if the audio drops out nothing I can do!) I am assuming it is my HD TV that is giving me the issue and not the DVD or the DVD player.
Thank you so much for your time and patients, it was really appreciated. I’m very positive you will be hearing from me soon.
Best of luck!

April 2, 2011 at 4:52 am in reply to: Audio problem (after burning DVD) using DVD Architect Studio 5.0Hi John,
I was on a mission to fix this issue tonight ha-ha. I took a break to make dinner around 7 and let my mind rest. After I finished eating I came to the same conclusion you had: Maybe there is something wrong with my DVD player. I played the burned DVD on my PS2 on a standard def. TV and it worked perfectly. I then took my DVD player to my parents’ house and it worked on their TV as well as their DVD player. When I got home I hooked my DVD player back up and the audio worked. I guess the DVD player just needed to be unplugged and plugged back in. It drove me nuts.
Thank you so much for your help today it was much appreciated!

Are you using 5.1 Surround of just Stereo DVD? Am I correct this only happens after you prepare? The preview sounds fine?
I’m out of ideas of what to do. Do you have any suggestions?

April 1, 2011 at 9:23 pm in reply to: Audio problem (after burning DVD) using DVD Architect Studio 5.0Hey John,
I rendered the video again, this time I used DVD NTSC thinking the audio would be rendered together. The preview in DVD Architect Studio 5.0 was fine, again. However when I burned it, the left track was missing again. Each time I burned the DVD (three times), I’ve noticed the first song I use on the video is “Run Fay run” by Issac Hayes; the horn section is always missing (as the same with the Beatles no drums or keys and Geddy’s voice sounding higher pitched. I listened more closely to the CD and you can here another vocal track that is missing on the DVD) So, I think that you are correct, the left track is missing. On my project timeline the pan is center. The preview in DVD Architect Studio 5.0 sounds great. The DVD is missing the left track. I will be working on this all night. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry, I may be a bit ignorant regarding this question (please bare with me ha-ha). I am playing the DVD on an HD TV with no surround sound, just the speakers from the TV. Are you asking if am I rendering to surround sound or editing as if I will be playing it on surround sound? The answer to that is no.
Am I correct this only happens after you prepare? The preview sounds fine?
Yes, you are correct. The preview sounds fine. After I prepare and burn to DVD, the DVD audio (while watching on my DVD player hooked to my TV) has the issue.
John, I appreciate your help! I apologize; I am at work and will not be home to work on the project until 4PM eastern (which I will work into the night to have ready for tomorrow). However, I will be checking my email sporadically all day for any of your suggestion regarding this matter.

April 1, 2011 at 12:31 pm in reply to: Audio problem (after burning DVD) using DVD Architect Studio 5.0Hello John,
Thank you for your quick response. I checked all of the audio levels, they are paned to the center. My volume is -11.9 db. I placed the volume at this level on purpose. When I took a “final cut pro” class in college, my teacher suggested that we place the volume level around -12db (so the sound does not get distorted). The volume level sounded fine on the DVD. “The Beatles” song was most noticeable. The other music tracks, “Rush” -” Working Man”, “The Cranberries” –“Dreams” sounded fine, however they both sounded as if they were missing a track (but not as obvious). I definitely noticed Geddy’s voice wasn’t as thick (sound more high pitched than usual). When I previewed in “DVD architect studio 5.0”, I was watching the rendered version from Sony Vegas. It was after I “Prepared” the video for DVD, and burned it the audio issues became apparent. However, last night I saved my project in “DVD architect studio 5.0”, I just watched it this morning in preview, and it sounds fine. It must have something to do with the rendering in “DVD architect studio 5.0” when I “Prepare”? What if I changed the audio render in Vegas to MP3 in lieu of AC-3? Again, any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thank you,
Dennis
