Wow thanks for the detailed information. I would like to say it was one of those issues, but actually it was a more obvious problem … although some people might overlook it too … under system settings/scratch disk, I needed to select video and audio capture and set it to a hard drive with more space! I wondered why it had 0 Free Space at the bottom of the window. Duh. Thanks for your help.
