    appreciate the detailed response.
Yes, it does seem that software mfg find a way to come up with a new version, that ends up being mostly bloat where too often

In this case, I’m still on a 32 bit platform, and not exactly planning on building a new computer quite yet. Heck, I don’t even own a flat screen TV. HA ! And YES…..I”m still using Windows XP, or I’d probably have ventured away from Adobe Premiere altogether by now.

Not that I’m rolling in the bucks, but I see this as an opportunity to buy either 5.5 or 6.0 and stash it in the closet until I build the next gen computer.

Really love the kids computer that uses the Sandy Bridge I3 core. Annoyingly, it blows away my top chip from the prior chipset from Intel, and it loads Win 7 in a flash…..but I digress

My last concern now is that if I don’t go and upgrade all the way to CS6, I won’t be able to upgrade again….staying at 5.5 might work better for me as an actual software, but could leave me wasting a lot of dollars to rejoin the pack in some later version that they won’t make an allowance for if I stay at 5.5
