I did get one component that wasn’t available when I installed it:
-the XDCAM Driver Software
Is there a link I can view to get that for my MAC OSX /FCP7

While trying to use the XDCAM Transfer App I also got this error:
Error Scanning Device…and list of codes that went with it.

The Video Footage plays just fine in QT and Content Browser..but all digital in FCP7…both in the viewer and TL

any thoughts as it why? Is there a FCP7 setting I need to change?

thanks for the advice. I transferred a few of the original files (.mov) files that had the compressor setting of: Motion JPEG A into a ProRess files using Compressor. I then imported them into FCP and checked the settings on the clips, it said Compressor was now Appple ProRes 422. however I still get the Red Render line once in the timeline. I must be missing a step. I appreciate the help. Dawn

yes, that’s my next step…reinstall. Can I just reinstall MOTION and nothing else?

The files from the SD card transferred to the computer as .mov files. I didn’t do a transfer/log to get them to FCP. I only did Import Files. If I have to convert them from .mov what would I convert them to? Thanks for the help. Dawn

ahh, thanks. I looked in the Home location…no Library Folder there at all. Sounds Bad.
My only Library folder is under the Dawns iMac icon.

thanks for such a quick reply. The link you send me was the first stop I’ve made..it’s where I learned about the plist and how to delete it…but it’s not in my Library/Preference anywhere. what could that mean? Is this why I’m having trouble?
