Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I’ve sort of ‘bit the bullet’ last week when a retailer sold me a CS2 for £100 and an upgrade to CS4 for £199. I thought it best to future proof myself as much a possible. So far, 2 days in, I ‘ve had a few crashes- when titling and rendering but -so far, so good- there’s more similarity to 6.5 that I had anticipated. My hardware is 12 months old- a Toshiba laptop with an AMD processor and 4GB’s of ram. Rendering still takes a while but the playback etc is good. Good luck with your system- a pain that RAM can’t be upgraded. What about your graphics card? That may speed things up a bit.
