I forgot to mention, my current Macbook has 2 GB ram. When I run the test, it says 47% Ram used. Does this mean I have more than I need?

Also, I found another Barefeats tests, which is on a later model Macbook Pro (though not the current one).

    https://www.barefeats.com/imacal4.html

The performance improved to 602 seconds in the Aug 2007 test.

This thread looks pretty much dead, but I was wondering what the render times on my Macbook would be vs. a Macbook Pro.

I ran the two files and they rendered in a total time of 16:38.

This is with a 2 ghz MB with 2 g Ram.

Anybody have any idea what the render time would be on a 2.6 ghz Macbook Pro with the new NVIDEA 8600M GT 512 graphics card with 4 G Ram? That’s what I’m thinking about upgrading to.

    Thanks!

Mike… I’m currently on a Macbook and looking to upgrade to a Macbook Pro. I’m wondering what kind of change in speed you got when you upgraded — how significant it was, etc…

Also, what Macbook Pro did you buy?

I’d love to hear from anyone else who’s running AE CS3 on a Macbook Pro.

The model I’m looking at would have 4 gb Ram + the latest video card (NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB)… so I’m guessing I’d see quite an improvement with that over my 2 year old Macbook.

    Thanks in advance.
