    Hey,

Thanks for that tip! The 3d solver is pretty awesome. It didn’t solve my problem but I figured it out myself.

I used a loopIn and Out expression to continue the track and through some miracle it automated it perfectly. No idea how that happened because I tried it before but it always looked really bad. I’m mega happy now!

Thanks heaps for all your suggestions!

    Ok, me again.

I take back what I said. I’m completely lost now. I’ve tracked everything but the track is extremely jittery and I can’t seem to find a way smoothen it out.

I’ve tried stabilizing the footage beforehand which didn’t help either. I’m not sure if the camera tracker is the right solution for this or maybe I’m just doing something wrong.

Any tips or suggestions are more then welcome.

    Cheers,
    David

Ok, figured it out. I think the track seems to work now. I forgot to parent it to the null.

It’s still a bit wobbly every now and then but I’ll give the warp stabiliser a try.

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks for your quick response!

Sadly, I tried that as well and it gave me strange results. The background plate is also not big enough to be scaled up that much. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.

I’ve basically just tracked the camera for the part that it need to be tracked. I before hand masked out the kid. After the analysing was done I’ve selected tracking points and created a camera. I changed the background plate to a 3d layer, precomped everything and used it as the background for the key in a previous comp.

It still seems to wobble quite a bit right when the window is revealed and I had to scale up the background plate a lot so that it won’t leave the frame.

I’ve also tried a 2d motion track and expanding the feature with an expression. That looked way to ‘automated’ though.

As I said, not really sure if I’m doing something wrong or not.

    Cheers,

    David

    Hey,

Thanks for both of those really helpful replies.

I will probably go with what Angelo said and run some tests with it.

My friend has planned on shooting the shot on just one lens so I think I’ll just stick some crosses on the blue screen and composite it afterwards in AE 6. Or would you recommend keeping the ball and the pole and sticking a second layer of jungle to it?

Thanks so much for the help again.

    Thanks for the replies!

Sorry for being unclear about this. It is going to be a point of view shot (talent not in shot except for hands maybe) and there won’t be much to see on the side. The stairwell we are shooting in is pretty narrow and we’ll probably shoot on a 35 or 50mm lens. Just to give you an idea.

Now what if we shoot it during daytime (the door leads to a courtyard) so that light would poor in from the outside? Any tips on how to make it strobing in that case?

    Thanks again

    David
