i tried but can’t seem to get it to only one frame, fcp keeps changing it to 1 sec…i am sure it’s operator failure and not the program 😉

    todd:

when i say “quicktime jumps around” i mean that when i play an hd movie it loads a movie window way bigger than my screen and has choppy video, rendering it basically unwatchable and definitely uneditable, at least on my system.

i’m running a mac g4, with panther os, a powerpc processor with 2gb of RAM.

ill check into the AIC codec and get back to you. if you’re bored or have time, check out my photos on http://www.davidlroot.com.

thanks again for your help, and patience 🙂

    best,
    david

thanks for the tip(s) todd, they are appreciated. but are you sure i can keep the sequence settings at 1080i, etc.? every time i try and watch one of the 1080i clips i recorded with my camera in quicktime player it jumps around the screen like crazy.

in fact, i don’t care that much how the video quality looks, for me it is all about displaying the photos as sharp as they can be. what codec would be the best for photos first, video second?

and you’re right, i need to be more patient. getting fed up with fcp computer stuff is no excuse, even for a noob 🙂

    thanks again,
    david
