Use a layer of white (you can use Matte – Color for the Viewer Window). Make this layer the duration you want the flash, add it to a track above the footage you want to flash. Animate the opacity from 100 to 0 and change the Composite Mode of this white layer to Add. Doesn’t get any cheaper than that.
I’m talking about existing users who haven’t upgraded in some time. Motion requirements are more steep than FCP’s. You have a pretty big installed base with FCP who are going to jump on Motion. Your G5 sales have completely stalled. What better way to sell new computers?
Ah, the never ending vicious cycle of upgrading. Motion creates hardware sells for Apple. Hey, I’m not knocking it. Its good old capitalism. No one knows it better than Steve Jobs and Apple.
Well, here’s the way I look at it – it’s 1/3 the price of AE and has probably about 1/3 the ability. You’re right about the menu navigation. I guess I’m way to use to AE, but I hate parts of the interface.
