wow, thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it!

i’ll definitely try the final cut pro idea and see if it works better to eliminate the formatting problem. i also would LOVE to use istopmotion but only the pro version supports bigger formats than i’m already getting and unfortunately i don’t have 500 bucks to shell out…

i’ve been reading through posts like crazy on here and noticed that maybe i left out a few bits of info that might help (i’m new to this, so thanks for nobody tearing my post to shreads!):

-I am using jpegs, my current project they’re 3648 x 2736. I don’t need the final product to be that big, but right now i’ve literally only managed to get the final product to be a maximum size of 720 x five-hundred-something. i don’t need to play it on a movie theatre size screen, but i’d like to be able to run them on for example a large home television and have them look nice.

– i’m using a new macbook pro 2.4 Ghz.

-i’ll be outputting onto a DVD format as part of my promo material (i’m a circus artist not a video guy, so the goal is not to showhow talented i am at editing, but i also don’t want the style of my physical work to suffer due to me sucking at editing!)
