    Thanks for the idea… I bought Scenealyzer years ago when Premiere didn’t have scene detection capability yet. I have a suspicion that it may be a camera issue rather than capture issue… Since capture via firewire has dropped one of my channels, yet it IS on the tape, I may just manually capture that one clip via analog inputs. What a stinkin’ pain.

    I attached the same camera to another computer (via firewire in both cases) and captured the same interview using Windows Media Encoder… resulted in a stereo file containing only the left channel. Footage before and after the interview contain normal stereo channels. Could this be some sort of phase issue that causes problems for the camera to output over fw? Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh!
