Thanks for the advice. It sounds like my notebook just isn’t fast enough. I have to shoot 60fps because of slow-mo work.
Anyway, I think I’ve figured out a way to ‘cheat’ the system. I converted my raw HD files to a frame size that is much smaller (400 x 224)but at the same framerate (60fps). In vegas, I edit using this smaller files to work with, which allows me to edit much quicker, and when I’m ready to render, I close Vegas, replace the small files with the original files (of the same file name) and open Vegas back up again to render.
So far, I’ve done some quick tests and it seems to work quite well… I’ve rendered it in HD and the quality looks about right. But does anyone know if there is something that may go wrong working in this way in the long run?
