Go pick up an Evertz VIP. It’s your best bet. I have one running in my edit suite and it’s never failed me. When paired with Vista Link it’s really the only solution worth anything out there.

I’m not bashing Avid, I own a Symphony 6 system. But They are getting slaughtered by Adobe and Apple with their pricing model, Premiere with their mercury playback is very, very good.
I used FCPX for about an hour last month and hated it. If i needed to switch to Premiere tomorrow the workflow would be 80% of what I do now with Symphony.

I’ve turned down jobs because I didn’t agree with the subject or it was because of my Morals. Just tread lightly and say “I’m booked” or “I don’t have the equipment/help/whatever for your job”
Telling people “I won’t shoot your wedding because you are gay” is just plain stupid IMO. When I was faced with this recently I just told them I had a shoot the day before and there was no guarantee I could be there in time.
Part of being a freelancer is picking and choosing jobs.
