  • Clunky, you need to put your two cents back. I don’t mean to sound rude, but I’ve been using Media 100 for 5 years now and it is the greatest system to edit with. FCP is good, but it ain’t that good. I get tired of people praising FCP. It is a clunky interface that has two many windows boxed together. Media 100 keeps it simple with it’s edit suite that allows you to tab between various tool menus. For someone who works for a company that can afford Media 100 but couldn’t for myself, this is a dream come true. If a few months when they add firewire functionability, it will be the dream system for me because it is affordable. The only reason FCP is so praised is that you don’t have to have hardware…but wait, in order to use it to it’s capacity you have to buy the most up-to-date and highly expensive G5 with a google of RAM. Media 100 has longed been looked over because of the hardware you have to buy with it. I’m sorry, you can buy a car at a junk yard but if it don’t have a motor it isn’t worth it. I’m thankful Media 100 has made this move. Don’t get me wrong, I love apple and their computers. I wouldn’t be caught dead using a PC, but we Media 100 users are a special niche and I can’t expect many people to understand my point. All I can say is if you were to edit on a Media 100 system for a few months you definately be singing another tune. I’d bet I could easily create a program twice as quick as anyone doing the same project on FCP. While your rendering your dissolves, I’ll be composing my credits. Thank you and kudos to all Media 100 users.
