I don’t have an answer to your specific problem but I would suggest, if possible, to try and isolate the problem(s) to specific card(s).
If you have access to known, working 3G and LHi cards, try swapping cards between computers. Don’t swap cables, computers or software since that will only add to the possible variables, only swap the card.
If you can verify that one LHi or 3G card works and another does not, in the EXACT same environment, you can follow up with AJA support for repair or replacement.
If the known working card fails, then it’s likely a problem in the cabling, software or computer hardware.

Yeah, based on my experience in testing, I don’t think it’s a matter of PrP “seeing” the plug-in drivers, it’s an incompatibility of the new plug-ins with CS6.
The best you could hope for would be to install the 10.4.8 (or try incrementally newer) plug-ins and see if they’ll work with the new driver software.

I am still on Mountain Lion (10.8.5), the last time I rebuilt I tested several combinations of AJA drivers and Adobe Plug-ins. I wanted to have access to both CS6 and CC.
My system is currently using the 10.4.9 driver and 10.4.8 plug-in. I’ll be going through a similar test process as I move to Mavericks (a stable, dependable system is MUCH more important to me than having the latest and greatest).
I’m afraid if you need to have access to CS6 you will be left behind as new drivers come out.

I should add that historically, I rarely captured to any formats other than DV codec or Apple ProRes, so you should include the capture codec onto your list of possible causes. I also work with a decent speed Raid-5 storage system.

I can not recall ever having a video-audio sync problem with the LHe or LHi and I started with the LHe in 2007.
Before pointing the finger at AJA or the OS, I would at least bypass the the DPS-475 (and come in analog) as a test to remove that variable from the possible culprits.
I have also used AJA VTR Xchange and AJA Control Room for capture with great success. I actually prefer VTR Xchange over Control Room, but that may change as I become more familiar with Control Room.
Using Log and Transfer is of course, a completely different method of ingesting media and I do seem to recall some sync issues with P2 media in the early days.

I am currently able to use the LHi in FCP7, CS6, CC and CC2014.
Of course, as I stated, I am in Mountain Lion (10.8.5).David Kuhnen

September 12, 2014 at 2:57 pm in reply to: audio bit depth….any defacto standards out there?I’ll jump on this discussion as well…
Hey, if they can actually handle 10 bit uncompressed video, then 24 bit audio will be a “walk in the park”
16 bit is the most common (in the video world) but virtually any app that can handle 16 bit can also handle 24 bit.
Coming from 1″ tape you’ll never hear a difference, so do what whatever you feel is right. And yes, stick with 48K.

I believe all LHi’s are of the newer generation, and all upgradable via current firmware. BUT, you should confirm that with AJA support.
You’ll almost definitely have to dedicate a 1730 (newer) to the LHi.
Personally, I’d jump at a $400 LHi, especially if you have the option of returning it.

I ended up replacing my older WFM300A with a used 1740A.
The circuitry of the 1740A basically hides the problem.I confirmed with AJA engineering that they redesigned the coupling of the analog video output amps on the LHe+ and LHi. They explained that most analog record decks could handle the new coupling design and that their (newer) waveform monitors never showed the error.
They said they never checked the analog outputs on a standard oscilloscope.
So, did I ever resolve the problem? No, it still exists. I just found a way to HIDE the problem. It will all boil down to how well your waveform monitor can handle DC restoration.

Ahhhh, Now you’ve hit on why I really miss my LHe.
I too prefer to monitor on a CRT waveform…Have a gander at this-
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/98/879775#879791The LHe and LHi have similar quality specs. In addition to the HDMI, the LHi also adds the ability to up-rez through the card, which does a really nice job considering the price.
