    Rich,

There is a plugin from FXFactory called Photo Montage that works in both Motion and FCP. Photo Montage is a generator and it allows you to control your slide presentation from within Motion or FCP. It’s not cheap $200 but it does what it says it will do and it works. Of course, you could always build the frame like the one shown (in the link you provided) In photoshop and then place your photos in the frame and then animate the behavior in Motion but… that takes time. Time is money. Check it out, I think they offer a free trial as well. There are a lot of plug int effects you could examine at FXFactory and some of them are free so I would suggest that you at least download the FXFactory 3.0 downloader. You’ll use it I promise.

    Mark,
Thanks again. I have all your DVD’s and I’m about to buy Mastering Particles in Motion 5. I’m pretty confident that what you are teaching in this DVD will transfer to Motion 4. I also subscribed to your newsletter.

Thanks for participating in this forum. I for one appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Mark,
First let me say thank you for your help and patience. I’m posting three grabs. The first is an image I created in CS5.5 Photoshop. In that image there are 6 soccer balls. Each one after the first has varying degrees of motion blur applied. That image contains the desired effect for the soccer ball coming to a halt.

The second image is a screen grab of the soccer ball in Motion with the Time/Echo filter applied. That grab shows the Parameter settings for the Echo Behavior.

The last image is what the completed comp with the desired end effect with background, player and name.
Hope this helps a bit more. I should have included the grabs in the first place. Please excuse my haste.

    Again thank you.

    David

    Andre,

Thanks for your response. I am a Mac guy and I will take a look at Bento. The template group sounds interesting. I’ll take a look. Thanks again for your response. Gotta love the Cow. Put a question up and you get a lot of great input.

    Chip,
Thanks for the great suggestions. I really like the idea of creating categories. I certainly don’t have 19,000 pieces of material like you are doing for your boss, but I do have a large number of Hi8 and miniDV tapes to go through and catalog. I’ve only ingested about 10 2-hour reels so far. Only drawback to that is the ingest is real time. Thanks again for your input. I think since I already have Excel it will give put your ideas to the test.

    All the best,
    David
