I echo what Joe and Mylenium have just said… The only time i use overrides is on the buttons of a scene selection menu….. just way to many headaches with them when used on timelines, chapters, etc,etc

DUH… Sorry John.. my addled old brain has just cottoned on to what you were asking in your original post… Encore 2.0 only seems to show the activated sub pic for a split second… if you do the suggestion in my last post then the sub pic will probably appear to flash for a split second or so.

also.. check to make certain that all layers are in the (+) button folder, i have a few tuts on my site that deals with custom made video buttons.. (https://asvideoproductions.com/doogs/downloads.htm) just copy and paste into your browser without the () brackets

I am working on how to create Aero style and picture frame buttons at the momment, i will post them to my site as soon as i have the tuts recorded..

Hmm… only thing i can think of is to use a transistion that is another identical Menu with a permanent activated sub pic highlight showing, make this as long as you need in AE or your NLE of your choice..

Encore does a good job of encoding the .avi file to mpeg, i have never noticed any qaulity loss in the finished file, having said that , if you have a longish video then you will start to notice some quality loss as Encore has to fit the video onto a single DVD (not unless you are using dual layer discs)

It can be done using multiple menus and the auto activating feature of Encore, however if you have loads of pics then it will be a navigation nightmare to get it all set up and working… you have to ask yourself.. “is it really worth the hassle”

go here (https://asvideoproductions.com/doogs/downloads.htm) and download tutorial #04 from the basic section of my website, this will show you how to create a basic motion menu. and yes you can make the buttons invisible, just turn them off in the button properties pallette.

Just have the end action of the scene timeline set to go back to another menu other than the one with the looping images, or if you are using Encore 2.0 then just set the chapter marker’s end action to return to another menu.
